Sport is good for your health, and to do it is probably one of the best feelings in the world.
But many athletes aren’t satisfied with that only.
They want performance, they want results, they want to give everything they can while they’re at it.

Wanna improve faster and feel better? Try these 5 advices

1. Lift weights

Doesn’t matter which sport you’re into.
Scientific research is really clear about it: lifting weights is good for you, in a lot of good ways.
In one Harvard School of Public Health study over the course of 12 years with a pool 10,500 adults, those who spent 20 minutes a day weight training gained less abdominal fat (compared to those who only performed cardio).
Not only that, weight lifting will get your body to produce more testosterone, making you stronger, more explosive and even more focused.
Whichever sport you’re into, just add one weekly routine of lifting weights and you’ll see crazy improvements in a few weeks timespan.

2. Listen to music

Music is magic. Not only at live concerts, but also before, during and after your workouts.
Everyone knows that your favourite playlist can fire you up for a workout, but according to an Indian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology study, people who listened to music after their workout recovered faster than those who went without it.
“Music boosts the body’s levels of serotonin and dopamine, hormones that are known to foster recovery” says Perkins, one of the scientists behind the study.
Try it not only to feel better but also to improve performances.

3. Take your salts

When you sweat, you risk dehydration. It’s not just about losing water, it’s more a salt related problem.
Your body need electrolytes to work properly, and salts are what you need to make it work.
Ever heard about needing “sugar” during workouts?
It’s true, a little bit of fast metabolized carbs can give you a boost of energy, but it’s salts that will keep you going for long.
If you feel tired or low energy, try supplementing magnesium and potassium for a fast and strong support.

4. Sleep & rest

Training is important, but don’t forget resting.
A good sleep is not a lazy way out, it’s just the other necessary face of working out.
According to one 2015 Sports Medicine review, poor sleep hinders not only your exercise performance, but also your body’s ability to come back stronger after every workout.
“Sleep drives the hormonal shifts that promote the body’s recovery to exercise” says the study.
Don’t ever underestimate it.
